Robbinsdale Born and Raised

Well, technically I was born in Minneapolis, but in 1976 my parents brought me home from the hospital to my first house in Robbinsdale on Crystal Lake Blvd. For the next 25 years I would call that neighborhood my home. Robbinsdale is where I learned to ride a bike, play baseball (rumor has it, I hold the Robbinsdale Little League single game strikeout record at 15), and where I made lifelong friends. I had my first job in Robbinsdale bagging groceries at Our Family Foods, went on my first date at the Terrace Theater (Ghostbusters 2), and learned to drive a manual transmission on the streets of Birdtown.

In 2010, I returned to Robbinsdale and currently live with my brother, John, a teacher in the Edina School District. We share a twin-home behind our alma mater, Lakeview Elementary School, with our dog, Mazzy, a completely undisciplined, but friendly, yellow lab. Needless to say, Robbinsdale was an idyllic place in which to grow up, and continues to be a wonderful place in which to live.

Professional Background

I am a proud graduate of Robbinsdale schools (Lakeview Elementary School, Armstrong High School). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Minnesota in 2001, and my law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2006. In 2015, I returned to school and earned a Master’s degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

I am an attorney, practicing general business and corporate law, as well as estate planning for a great firm in Bloomington, MN. Prior to joining my current firm, I owned my own law practice, and before that worked as a tax consultant for a Big Four accounting firm. Accordingly, my business, tax, and legal expertise provides an invaluable skill set that is needed on the Robbinsdale City Council.

Civic Engagement

I am a former member of the Robbinsdale Charter Commission.
